The Abbe refractometer allows you to determine the sugar content in aqueous solutions expressed in degrees Brix.
With the aid of a thermostat it is possible to measure the refractive index of substances with temperatures between 10 and 50°C.
The instrument is supplied complete with a glass thermometer with a protective metal sheath, a standard glass with box, a screwdriver and a bottle of naphthalene bromide.
Measurement ranges
The Abbe refractometer is an instrument for determining the refractive index nD of liquids or solids with transparency properties.
It is designed for thermostatting in a range from 0 to 70°C.
The Abbe refractometer can also determine the percentage of sugar concentration (% Brix) contained in a sugar solution.
